We had a great turnout at the recent IGBR Fall Conference in Las Vegas. We would like to thank those of you who participated and shared their research with us. The presentations were engaging and led to very fruitful discussions. New connections were made and many long-time colleagues got to catch up face to face.
An exciting announcement was made at the conference. President of IGBR, Dr. Jeff Mankin, announced he was stepping down as his term was up earlier this year. The new IGBR President is Dr. Laurent Josien of SUNY Plattsburgh. Dr. Josien is an Associate Professor of Marketing and has taught marketing, entrepreneurship, and small business management classes for the School of Business and Economics since the fall of 2013. The new Vice President is Julio Rivas of Lipscomb University. Dr. Rivas is an Associate Professor and Director of the MBA program at Lipscomb University’s College of Business. Dr. Mankin, formerly of Lipscomb University and now owner of Finally Learn LLC, was a great leader and ambassador during his tenure as President and will remain an active member of the Board of Directors.
We are also excited to announce the list of award winners from the recent conference. We gave out a few different types of awards and have listed them below. Congratulations on your hard work and dedication.
Editor Appreciation Award
Some Journal Editors have done great work in what is often a thankless job. They are dedicated to maintaining a double-blind, peer review process that is rigorous but supportive. Their job is to help authors improve their papers, even if that means making multiple revisions. We thank you for your time, energy and dedication to the core mission of the IGBR.
- Dr. Ying-Chou Lin, Southeastern Oklahoma State University (Editor of the Global Journal of Accounting and Finance)
- Dr. Lin Zhao, Purdue University Northwest (Co-Editor of the Global Journal of Business Disciplines)

These individuals have been supporters and ambassadors of the IGBR. They have encouraged attendance at the conferences, worked as Referees and Advocates, and taken on extra duties on behalf of the organization. They have been great friends and colleagues and are clearly worthy of Fellow status.
